Service Description

Embark on a creative journey through our comprehensive seven-week art course. Students will explore multiple mediums and techniques in a supportive group environment, guided by an experienced instructor and designed to build skills from week to week. Week 1: Drawing, back to basics, properties of pencils, charcoal etc. shading techniques. Draw a still life which covers something spherical,cylindrical and a cube. Looking at light and shadow Week 2: Drawing continued, I’ll choose a prop, eg. a piece of fruit or a bowl of fruit, depending on ability. We’ll begin by moving round the room and doing 5 min drawings with charcoal. Followed by a long drawing in pencil. Week 3: Watercolour and the properties of watercolour, brushes and techniques. Followed by a painting of a native bird. Week 4: Watercolour continued, begin by drawing a local landscape, followed by a watercolour painting of the subject. Week 5: Acrylics, Look at the properties of acrylic, wildflowers or seasonal plants, try out colours in oil pastels first, trying to move away from our comfort zone and be led by our imaginations, being brave with our acrylic painting. Week 6: Paint a native animal in impasto. Bold colours and fun techniques. Week 7: Artists own project or collage. Tutor: Breege Kilcullen Location: First Floor - Art Room Included: All materials and a BREW. Wear old clothing!

Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation policy is 48hours. The entire course must be paid in full, no credit will be returned if you are not able to attend one week. You can cancel the entire course 48hours before it begins but not individual sessions.
